furnessway.co.uk is where walkers plan the Westmorland and Furness Way: the 120-mile trail from Alston to Furness Abbey that officially opened on 15 September 2026. Trail Partners are local businesses along the route (places to stay and eat, outdoor shops, baggage transfer and more), shown in clearly labelled listings on the pages walkers use to plan each stage.
Who You'll Reach
Our readers aren't casual browsers. They are walkers actively planning a multi-day trip through your area: working out where to sleep, where to eat, how to move their bags and what kit they still need. They arrive on stage guides, itineraries and our accommodation and transport guide, often weeks before they travel.
Figures as of September 2026. Search clicks: Google Search clicks in the three months around the trail's opening, from Google Search Console. We're happy to share up-to-date numbers on request.

How Listings Appear
Each listing is a compact box marked "Trail partner", with your name, a short description of up to 40 words, an optional logo and a link to your website or booking page. On stage pages it sits in the "Where to Stay & Eat" section, right where walkers are deciding where to stop. Baggage transfer and taxi partners also appear in the luggage section of our accommodation and transport guide, and gear shops alongside our kit list.
To keep readers' trust, every partner link is marked as sponsored, listings are always labelled, and partners never influence our route advice. That independence is what makes the listings worth having.
Get in Touch
Email blacktipsheets@gmail.com with your business name, where you are on the route, and which option interests you, or use our contact page. We'll reply with a draft of your listing to approve before anything goes live.
Trail Partner FAQs
No. Route descriptions, difficulty ratings and advice are written independently and are never influenced by partners. Partners appear only in boxes clearly labelled "Trail partner", and their links are marked as sponsored.
Anything genuinely useful to someone walking the route: B&Bs, inns, campsites and hostels near the stage towns; pubs and cafés; outdoor gear shops; baggage transfer, taxi and guided-walk operators; and local attractions. We only list businesses we'd be happy to point walkers to.
Listings run for 12 months from the date they go live, with a reminder before renewal. There's no long-term contract.
