Hill and long‑distance walking carries inherent risks. The route descriptions, distances, difficulty ratings, elevation figures, maps, GPX and GeoJSON files on this site are provided for general guidance only and may contain errors or be out of date. The Westmorland and Furness Way is still being developed ahead of its official Autumn 2026 opening, and paths, waymarking, diversions, transport and facilities can change without notice.
You are responsible for your own safety. Always carry appropriate maps (such as OS Explorer 1:25,000), navigation equipment and clothing, check the weather and current conditions, and assess your own fitness and experience before setting out. You use all route information and GPX files entirely at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss, injury, or damage arising from use of this site or reliance on its content.
Accuracy of information
We work to keep the information accurate and up to date and we flag details that are provisional or need checking, but we make no warranty that the content is complete, current or error‑free. Nothing on this site is official guidance from Westmorland and Furness Council or any other authority. Always confirm details against official and up‑to‑date sources before you travel.
Use of GPX and route files
GPX and GeoJSON files are provided free for personal, non‑commercial use to help you plan and follow the route. They are derived from publicly available data and may not exactly match waymarking on the ground. Do not rely on them as your sole means of navigation.
